Mechanical injection packers create sealed ports for controlled epoxy, polyurethane, and grout injection into concrete cracks. Adoration offers carbon steel, aluminum, copper, and plastic packer options for foundation waterproofing, basement leak repair, elevator pits, construction joints, tunnels, and other pressure-injection work.

How to choose an injection packer

Start with the drill-hole diameter and the depth of sound concrete available around the crack. The rubber sleeve must expand against clean, solid substrate. A mismatched drill bit, dust left in the hole, weak concrete, or excessive tightening can cause leakage around the port and waste injection pressure.

  • Diameter: match the packer to the specified drill bit and verify a snug fit before injection.
  • Length: use enough length to seat the sealing sleeve beyond weak or spalled surface concrete.
  • Material: check the material specified for each model. S-10 and S-15 are single-use carbon steel packers; other models use aluminum, copper, or plastic.
  • Connection: confirm compatibility with the injection hose, slide coupler, or grease-style fitting.

S-10 instant-removal injection packers

The S-10 carbon steel injection packer uses a rear check-valve design intended to retain injected material after the packer is knocked off. This lets crews remove the exposed portion immediately after injection when the material, substrate, and job procedure permit, without waiting for the packer body to remain in place during cure.

Pair packers with the right pump and resin

Injection packers do not determine whether epoxy or polyurethane is correct. Dry, stable cracks that require bonding may call for a specified epoxy system, while active water leakage is commonly addressed with compatible polyurethane grout. Browse our concrete crack injection pumps and read the mechanical injection packer selection guide before planning the drill pattern.

Compare injection packer types

Injection packer selection
Packer Typical application Connection and installation checks
S-10 Instant Injection Packer Compatible epoxy, polyurethane and acrylic injection Match drilled-hole size, substrate, check valve and coupler. Follow the approved removal procedure.
M6-M8 Surface Packers Epoxy injection for suitable concrete crack repair Surface-bonded ports avoid drilling. Surface seal, adhesive cure and injection pressure must suit the repair specification.
5/8-inch Button Head Plastic Packer Acrylic curtain injection; also used for compatible slab lifting systems Hammer-in installation. Pair with the matching button-head slide coupler; verify hole size, retention and system pressure limits.

Match the coupler to the injection port

Injection coupler compatibility
Coupler Packer connection Application
B33 Steel Zerk Fitting Coupler Matching zerk fitting Epoxy, polyurethane or acrylic workflows with compatible fittings, seals and pressure ratings. Not a substitute for a button-head slide coupler.
1/8-inch Female Slide Coupler Matching 5/8-inch button-head plastic packer Acrylic curtain injection or compatible slab lifting. Confirm the hose-side thread separately from the packer-head connection.

Injection packer questions

What is an injection packer?

An injection packer provides a connection between the injection hose and the repair location. Drilled mechanical or hammer-in packers and surface-bonded ports use different methods of sealing and retention. Choose the port for the substrate, material and specified working pressure.

Are surface ports and mechanical injection packers interchangeable?

No. Surface ports depend on a sound bonded surface seal, while drilled packers need a correctly prepared hole and secure retention. The repair method determines which is appropriate; one pressure limit or installation method should not be applied to every port.

Which packer is used for acrylic curtain injection?

The 5/8-inch button-head plastic packer with its matching slide coupler is an Adoration option for suitable acrylic curtain injection work. S-10 packers can also serve compatible acrylic applications. Select the layout, retention and pressure limits for the actual structure and ground conditions.

Does every grease coupler fit every injection packer?

No. A zerk coupler and a button-head slide coupler connect to different heads. Match the packer head, hose thread, material compatibility and pressure rating before operating.

Compare materials in our epoxy, polyurethane and acrylic injection guide, then choose a compatible injection pump.
